Inter Island Shipping can ship anything from a barrel or tea chest to any destination port worldwide. We also ship to most inland depots, and can arrange forwarding to your nearest large town or city.

If you only have a small consignment, your cargo will travel in a container with other items. This is known as a groupage service. However if your consignment is large (for instance full house contents) we can provide you with a 20ft or 40 ft standard container at your address, together with provision of professional packers to load it.

Seafreight services can take from 1 to 8 weeks, dependant on destination. You must then allow 7-10 days for unloading and customs clearance. All consignments must be accompanied by a packing list or inventory.

When your cargo arrives at its destination port, you will be required to pay port terminal handling charges and customs clearance charges.

Shipments to a port do not neccessarily mean you collect your goods at that port. In most cases, this is dependant on the destination. Your cargo will usually be consigned to our local agent, and unloaded into a customs bonded store.

Seafreight prices are based on volume, not weight, and the rates generally decrease as the volume increases.
